WORLD’S HIGHEST WOMEN: conquering the Himalayas

In the summer of 1959 twelve women left Europe for Pakistan on an unprecedented adventure. Among them were French, English, Belgian, Swiss and Nepalese. For the first time an all-female expedition is aiming to conquer one of the 14 peaks over 8000 meters – the ultimate challenge in mountaineering.  As they set off on their ascent, these women were well aware of the risks they were taking. Leading them is Claude Kogan, a seasoned mountaineer. Will they succeed in taming the Himalayas?
